Is it the Money, or the Mob?

Kaya bang tapatan ng ISA ang ISANG DAAN?

This is the ultimate question in the newest game show of ABS-CBN...
1 vs 100!

The quiz show, another one of the original creations of the Dutch company Endemol, premiered last August 29 with Pilipinas, Game KNB? host Edu Manzano as the quiz master. It features a contestant, called The One, being pitted against 100 other people collectively called The Mob.

During the contest proper, "The One" and each member of  "The Mob" are given a question with three possible answers and a specific value, ranging from P 1,000 to P 20,000. After answering a question correctly, any mob member who answered the question incorrectly will be eliminated from the game. "The One" adds a specific amount to their bank for every member of the mob they eliminate on a particular question.

During the contest, The One can use any of three "Helps" :
  • Alamin ang Sagot (Know the Answer): Also known as Poll the Mob, the contestant picks one of the three answers. The number of mob players who chose that answer is revealed. This is represented by a magnifying glass.
  • Sagot ng Dalawa (Answer of Two): Also known as Ask the Mob, One mob member who answered correctly and one who answered incorrectly are chosen at random. Each explains his/her decision to the contestant. Mob members must tell the truth as to which answer they chose, but do not have to tell the truth as to why they chose that answer. This automatically eliminates one wrong answer, thus leaving contestants with a 50-50 chance of picking the right answer.
If all mob members answer incorrectly, the solo player will be permitted to talk to one mob member and then will be informed that their answer is incorrect. If all mob members answer correctly, the solo player isn’t told that and is given the option to lock the answer in. This can also occur if all the mob members answer incorrectly, but choose the same incorrect answer. This is represented by a question mark.

  • Sagot ng Nakakarami (Answer of Many): Also known as Trust the Mob, the contestant commits to choosing the answer chosen by the largest number of mob members. If there is a tie for two answers, the solo player has a choice to one of those two answers. This is represented by an arrow pointing right. Contestants may use multiple helps on a single question, but may only use each help once during the game. It is possible that a mob member may be picked for both the Alamin ang Sagot and Sagot ng Dalawa, even on the same question.

If after any correct answer the entire mob members has been eliminated, the contestant wins the top prize of P2,000,000. HOWEVER: If "The One" was the one who answered incorrectly, he or she goes home with nothing, and the remaining mob members who answered correctly will equally share the money earnings of "The One", and will be eligible to join "The Mob" in the next episodes and will be called "The Unbeatables", until they get eliminated.

After completing each round of questions, The One can take actually his or her winnings and leave the game (while leaving helps unused, if applicable). Contestants must make that decision before seeing questions; once they see a question, they are committed to answering it; although if 10 or fewer mob members remain, they can see the question (but not the answers) before deciding. When contestants quit and take their winnings, the remaining mob members win nothing, but will still be part of "The Unbeatables" in the next game.

Watch the show every Saturday, 7:30 pm only on ABS-CBN.

My Phone is Gone...

Yup! I no longer have my very reliable Nokia 1100 because some jerk got interested in that very gasgas and luma kind of phone....

I lost it somewhere in SM North EDSA last Sunday (January 14). I don't know if it fell off my pocket inside the taxi and some insane person kept it for himself, or that baka-mono just slipped his pocket into mine and got the phone.

Well, I am NOT really affected by the incident. You can actually congratulate me for being part of the ever growing membership of the "I-lost-my-phone-yeah!" circle. I also bought a new one... but only an 1112 (Sorry, I am still poor...). What really pissed me off was the text conversation we had with the supposed finder-keeper of my phone! >_<

That I will feature next time :p

Multiply Site Facelift

I am now "playing" with the settings of my Multiply site to make it a bit personalized, or should I say customized. It might take some time to have the right mix of colors, pictures, and stuff, so please bear with me.... ^_^;
