Center of Excellence.... Excellent!

Here is something that all of us in the UP Diliman Math Department can brag about.

This news is from one of my usual Math Department mails... and it came from no less than our Chairman, Dr. Jose Ernie C. Lope.

Dear Colleagues,

We have been officially recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as a Center of Excellence (COE) in Mathematics. We received the plaque of recognition signed by CHED Chairman Carlito Puno just this morning. (The plaque is now displayed at the faculty lounge.) Our efforts at coming up with that lengthy report for COE recognition have
thus paid off.

As we are officially a COE for the next three years, we are entitled to submit proposals for funding. (It used to be that COEs received PhP 3 million per year for three years but they have changed the guidelines. Hence we have to come up with proposals.)

Congratulations to all of us!

Anniversary... Wicky ^_^

Today is our anniversary!

A year ago on this day, with Oble as a witness, my lovey dovey and I became "us".... What was then a usual casual talk-and-walk routine with her became a big turning point in our lives...

I still can't believe that my girlfriend has been with me for a year... Napagtiyagaan n'ya ako ng isang taon, grabe.... with my bad tempers, whims, childishness, and the like, hehehe....

But I'm still thankful to the Lord that she became my girlfriend. I really didn't regret having a girlfriend like her.... She's irreplaceble and incomparable to others....

Hope we will be together for the next n years, where n > N , N a sufficiently large natural number.... (Wish us luck....)

Happy anniversary, my wicky wabby! Thanks for always being there and sticking it our for a year. I LOVE YOU!!! bEWiE MuCH... *tsup* hee ^_^
